It’s That Time Again! December 19th, 2008

It’s that time again folks – holiday season is officially here (well, more or less). All of us that work here at Rebtel like to think that Christmas is a special time of the year for a lot of our users. See, a majority of you use our service to keep in touch with friends and family when you’re away during the year doing all kinds of stuff. Maybe you’re away to attend school abroad, maybe you’re backpacking in Europe for a couple of months to widen your horizon or you might be busy working out of the country and are forced to be away from the people that matter the most to you. Christmas is a holiday when a lot of you get the opportunity to come home, step through the door and finally reunite with your loved ones after spending a long time apart.

To celebrate this we are launching our Holiday Offer. What’s special about it is that it’s primarily targeted to our existing users. Some of you have contacted us through email, Facebook and Twitter and asked us why we haven’t been giving away any sweet deals to the people that have been with us the longest through thick and thin. Well, we sure haven’t forgotten about you and this is our little present that will hopefully make you feel warm inside.

When you make a deposit of $50 we give you a little holiday bonus, 20% more talk time to be exact. If you’re not happy with that and want more, you have the option of making a $100 or $150 deposit to receive 30% or 40% more talk time than you would otherwise. Have a look below to get the idea. Doesn’t look to shabby, does it?

Lastly, we would like to thank all of you that have supported and believed in us throughout 2008. Next year will be even better, you can count on that.

From all of us at Rebtel, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

  • Hi there Jatin,

India as a calling destination has become a lot more competitive recently, which is naturally a good thing for everyone.

We are continousy working on lowering our rates to all calling destinations and India is certinaly one that is slightly more prioritized due to its popularity. We will hopefully have some news regarding India within short. Also worth mentioning is that a lot of other companies that have rates to India around the 1 cent mark often force you to use a PC client or have connection fees that might be difficult to spot at first. As you hopefully know, that is not the case with Rebtel.

Lastly, thank you for being a loyal Rebtel user. We are very grateful for that and we will do everything to make you feel like it's worth your while.

    Hi,
Today i came to know that rebtel is costly then some of the calling cards of India.I can't understand why rebtel is offering call rates @2.9 cents/Min when other companies are offering good service @1 cents/Minutes.

Should i stay with rebtel or should i start using other calling cards company.I am not getting any bonus or extra talktime even being a loyal customer of rebtel from a long time. Please suggest.

  • @pa Thanks for your comment! Unfortunately we do not yet offer Customer Support over the phone. The reason for that is that we are still a rather small company with limited resources. As we continue to grow, support over the phone is naturally to be expected.

Right now, we're focusing on bringing you the best possible customer support over email and on getsatisfaction.com/rebtel

With Get Satisfaction, which is a user-driven support community and our latest customer service effort, we're hoping to see users help other fellow users with basic Rebtel related questions.

    Thanks!

    Alex

    Hello

How I can contact customer support over the phone
and talk to them. It always goes to automated answering system. I need to talk to the person and talk about issues. If I don't have a person available to talk then there is no point swicth over to RebTel. I really care about the customer service. I am in San Fracisco, US
Is there any number to contact a person over the phone (Not automated answering system )

  • Subh,

Thanks for your comment. We constantly try to push our rates and sometimes some of them can be perceived as slightly pricier in comparison to the cheapest ones. We will definitely take your request into consideration when we think of new campaigns in the future.

    Thanks!

  • Shubh

Rebtel is good and though recently its call service quality has been affected to India.
But one thing, I have been a user of rebtel when I was in US, and I am a user of rebtel now when it was launched for singapore.

The offers of rebtel are still costly even after the 40% extra talktime. other calling card companies like airtel and others are giving much cheaper talktime..

I just hope rebtel team takes a note of this and comes up with similar offers for singapore
(singapore to India). I agree that US rates are perfectly fine.

  • Thanks for the nice words Abby! All of us here at Rebtel wish you and your boyfriend a long lasting relationship and a Merry Christmas :)

Thank you Rebtel for keeping me (United States) and my boyfriend (Netherlands) connected everyday. I don't know what we would do without your service. Happy Holidays!
