Rebtel For Android In Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA Campaign March 15th, 2011

XPERIA World Screen

A little while ago, we were contacted by the nice folks over at Sony Ericsson. They told us they were in the midst of planning an extensive campaign for their brand new XPERIA line of Android Smartphones. They said they wanted to include a few hand-picked apps they felt added value to the user experience on their new devices and could bring out the best out of the hardware as well as the software.

To our great joy, our very own Rebtel for Android was selected to be featured in the campaign among other greats in the likes of Foursquare, Photobucket, Justin.TV and Facebook Location.

As a part of their marketing strategy to, Sony Ericsson created a very cool micro-site in the shape of a virtual world called XPERIA. In the world of XPERIA, you can explore neighborhoods in a SIMS-like city and discover different apps in each area (the Rebtel app can be found downtown just next to the skateboard ramp).

In addition to this, our app will also be featured in Sony Ericsson’s other online, outdoor and TV XPERIA advertising across Bulgaria, Cyprus, Macedonia, Israel, Romania, Turkey and Greece.

Sounds cool? Head over to Sony Ericsson and start exploring the world of XPERIA.

Infographic: The State Of Rebtel In March 2011 March 14th, 2011

To wrap the milestones Rebtel as company has achieved in words is a challenge. Since they claim a picture says a thousand words, we figured we’re better of creating an infographic to visualize them instead. You can see the result below. What do you think? Pretty cool, isn’t it? Big thanks to our hugely talented designer Jason for making it.

Free Calls To Japan With Rebtel Until March 14 March 11th, 2011

In wake of today’s chocking earth quake that took place off the coast in northeastern Japan and unleashed several tsunamis, we’re giving all Rebtel users the option of calling to Japan for free.

Until March 14 2011, no Rebtel charges will be applied on calls made to Japan through the Rebtel service. Even though you currently aren’t a Rebtel user, you can still sign up to start calling. There are no strings attached or required credit deposits.

Even though there are different reports coming in regarding the post-quake state of the infrastructure in Japan, there might some connectivity issues throughout the next few hours.

If you experience problems getting through to your loved ones, please be patient and try again a little later.
