CONTEST: Voting Is Over And Here Are The Winners! August 29th, 2011  

At last, 47 days, hundres of submitted entries and tens of thousand of votes later, it’s finally time to reveal our winners of the Rebtel Reunite Photo Contest that was held on our Facebook page.

This Facebook contest wasn’t our first, but it most certainly was the biggest and held an important significance for us as a company. It played a lot on the essence of what we are all about. Even though talking to someone over the phone is the most intimate and important communication tool for nurturing your most important relationships, nothing can ever replace the feeling of seeing someone that means the world to you in person.

Hence why we decided to reward the three people with the most votes with a free trip back home to see the person in their lives they miss the most. Also, the ones that placed 4-20 will receive $100 worth of Rebtel credit. It’s not a trip home by all means, but it’s a close second and will last you for a long time to come.

Rebtel Featured In UK Edition Of WIRED Magazine August 12th, 2011  

A couple month ago, we were visited in our office by a reporter from WIRED UK that travelled to Stockholm and a number of other European cities to do a cover feature entitled “Europe’s Hottest Startup Capitals”. He visited a number of locations and wrote reports on the most exciting and promising startup companies he could find. To even be featured once in a publication like WIRED is a dream for any company in the technology sphere, and we’re determined to make this the first out of many.

CONTEST: Vote For Your Favorite Photo August 11th, 2011  

First off, we want to send a big thanks to all the hundreds of people that entered our Rebtel Reunite Photo Contest, in which we asked you to share a quirky, funny or loving picture of yourself and/or that special someone in your life that you’re away from and miss the most. The grand prize? An all-paid round-trip ticket back home!

Now, the contest enters its second and most exciting stage, namely the voting stage. Before you get to it, here’s some basic stuff to keep in mind.

Anyone is allowed to vote for each photo they like once a day until the voting period ends, which is August 26. That means that you can ask anyone with a Facebook account to vote for you to increase your chances of winning.

When you get to the voting page, you simply click Thumbs Up if you like a photo or Thumbs Down if you don’t. In practice, that means if you have 1 vote and someone gives you a Thumbs Down, you’ll be back to 0 votes.

On August 26, the 3 photos with the highest number of votes will each win a trip back home to be reunited with their loved one. Also, as a condolence prize, submission that rank 4-17 will each win $100 worth of Rebtel credit.

To maximize your chances of winning, ask your friends, family and co-workers (nicely) to vote for you once every day until voting closes. You can easily share your photo with your Facebook friends when voting by making sure the ‘Share on my wall’ box is ticked.

How To Vote In 3 Simple Steps

1. Go to Facebook.com/Rebtel and click on ‘Win a trip’

2. Scroll down and click on ‘View Entries’

3. Find the photo you like the most and click Tumbs Up.
