Hi there,

If you make a Free Call, you pay nothing to Rebtel. Only the cost for the local part of the call to your regular carrier.

If you make a Direct Call, you also pay for the local part of the call as well as a small per minute fee to Rebtel.

Happy calling!

Hey there,

There is no doubt that in order for our users to get the most out of our service, they should ideally have inclusive minutes in their monthly plans. Worth mentioning is that we have in fact seen that is the case (inclusive minutes) for a majority of people around the world.

Regarding our pricing, we were actually named price leaders in our category not to long ago and we are planning on staying there for quite some time :) You can find an article about it here http://www.voipmonitor.net/2008/06/26/Rebtel+Wins+Mobile+VoIP+Shootout.aspx

Some calling card companies might have cheaper face rates than us but the fact remains that when calling with calling cards, you only get 60% of the minutes you thought you paid for on average. In addition to that, we do not charge our users with any hang-up fees, connection fees or any other ridiculous hidden fees. We work hard to be as transparent as possible and offer our users exactly what they see. Often times more :)

The Rebtel service will continue to evolve in the right direction and I'm positive that we will offer new calling services that will appeal to a broader segment of people sooner rather than later.

Thanks for your input!

Best regards,

Alex

Unless Rebtel has toll-free or VoIP access or a huge amount of local access numbers, the user base will remain very limited. I have been recommending Rebtel to people but very few of them were interested because the access numbers are either long distance calls to them or will cost their cell plan minutes (especially for those paying by minutes in many countries), and the rate of Rebtel is not cheap compared to competitors like phone card companies or VoIP companies like Betamax when free smart call is not an option, and the competitors all have got one or two convenient methods of access. To keep the idea of the FREE smart call running and get compensated by the user's carrier for calling the Rebtel access numbers, Rebtel may have been killing other possibilites and wasting its excellent resources. The only frequent users might be those can make free smart calls. I hope Rebtel remain profitable and last long, for the good of Rebtel itself and people who like or paid for Rebtel.

Hi,

I dont know if it belongs here, but i`d like to inquire about possible plans to offer sip-calling for the rebtel users.

There are more and more mobile phones with wifi on-board.Many phones have already sip-clients installed in the firmware. I think it would be a killer-feature to allow your customers to place rebtel calls via wifi on their phones.

This would be especially usefull when roaming abroad or for people who dont have a cheap or unlimited local dial-plan.

I read somewhere that rebtel uses sip to manage its voip-backbone.
So it should be relatively simple to allow sip-calls for your customers.

Would appreciate your answer!
